Easy Everyday Eyeshadow Look

This is my go to eyeshadow look when I'm in a hurry and don't have much time to do my makeup. It's super simple and can be done in minutes.

For my lids I used my Milani shadow stick in 03 Champagne Toast

I used a fluffy MAC 217 brush to apply Tease from the Naked 2 palette to my crease

To line my upper lid I used Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Demolition. (I did not line my waterline or tightline)

Finally I used L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara on my lashes

The Finished look...

Urban Decay- Naked 2 Palette

It's no secret that Urban Decay makes the best eyeshadows on the market. This is my first palette in the naked series and I'm in love. They are so pigmented, buttery and easy to blend. Paired with Urban Decay's primer potion they last forever.
The packaging is very sturdy and comes with a huge mirror making it perfect for travel. The dual ended brush that comes with it is very usable- a fluffy brush for blending and a basic shadow brush.

Also included with the palette is a sample of UD`s Lip Junkie in the shade Naked. It is a very wearable neutral shade that should work on anyone. It cools and claims to plump (although I didn't notice any plumping). It has a really nice vanilla, mint scent and flavour and it isn't too sticky. I have definitely considered buying the full size when this one runs out.

The palette contains mostly shimmer with some sparkle and some matte ones thrown in. My favourites in the palette include Tease, Suspect and YDK. I was less than impressed with Chopper. The colour is beautiful but it has a LOT of fallout which I guess is to be expected with sparkle shadows.

The neutral taupe/grey based shadows are more cool toned than the original naked palette but not quite as cool as Naked 3.

Spring Lilac Eyeshadow Look

Spring is the perfect time to try out brighter colours. After winter and lots of darker shades, it's nice to branch out and wear some pastels. The look I went for today made use of my Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette.

The Lilac purple colour on the left and the darker purple colour beneath were both used in this look.

I used my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pure Nude as a base for this eye look. I then used Mac's Naked Lunch on the first half of my eye.

I used the Lilac purple colour in the palette and put it on the second outer half of my eye and worked it up into the crease a little. I used Venus from The Naked Basics Palette as a highlight in my inner corner and on my browbone.

I finished off the look by lining my upper and lower lashes with the dark purple colour in the palette. I winged out the line and then used Sephora's liner electro in 04 electro mauve on my waterline and to tightline my upper lashline. Finally, I used L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lash Excess on my upper and lower lashes.

I ♥ Drugstore Makeup

I buy a majority of my makeup products at the drugstore as you can get good quality products for a low price. I have taken the YouTube tag created by YouTubers Alli (http://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupByAlliand Fran  (http://www.youtube.com/user/makeupbyfran)  and changed the questions a little. So here are some of my Drugstore faves!

Questions:

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?

It would have to be a tie between Rimmel and Maybelline. I have had so many products that I love from those brands and very few that didn't end up working for me. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to Revlon for best drugstore lip products.

2. What are your favorite face, cheek, lip and eye products?

Face:
My favourite drugstore foundation is without a doubt Rimmel Wake me up Foundation. I have the shade 103 True Ivory and it matches my skin tone better than any other foundation I have. It has tiny light reflecting particles that make my skin look more radiant. It has a light to medium coverage and as a plus, it has a really lovely smell. It might be my all time favourite foundation.
My favourite face powder is also from Rimmel, it's the Stay Matte powder. It's a good powder for setting your makeup and it doesn't accentuate dry patches too badly. I've hit pan on it which is fairly rare for me with beauty products.
There aren't very many drugstore concealer's that have worked on blemishes for me but Maybelline's Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting concealer in radiant does a good job covering my under-eye circles.

Cheek:
For Blush Nyx is my favourite drugstore brand. I have the colour Angel and it's a great matte blush for everyday.
People talk about NYC's Bronzer in Sunny all the time and in my opinion it is the best drugstore bronzer for contouring as it's matte but not too orange.

Lip:
I have lots of favourite lip products from the drugstore. I think the drugstore really hits the mark on lip products. I rarely buy high end lip products. My all time favourite lip products are the Revlon Lip butters. I only have 3 but I would like all of them! They are so buttery and soft nowhere near as dry as a lipstick which is one of the main reasons I'm not a big lipstick fan. I also love how you can build up the colour. They're easy to apply and come in a huge range of colours. I could go on and on - I'm such a fan.
Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are also great. I wear mine in the colour honey almost everyday.
My favourite drugstore lip glosses are the Nyx Mega Shine Lip Glosses. They're not sticky and smell amazing! I seriously can't stress enough just how good they smell. The one I wear daily over my Revlon balm stain is in the colour Beige.
I also wanted to give a shout out to the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers. The pigmentation, texture and longevity are all incredible. Stalking up on other colours is definitely on my to-do list.

Eye:
There are 3 eye products from the drugstore that really stand out to me. For one the Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in Blackest Black is probably my favourite eyeliner of all time including liquid and pencil. It's creamy and easy to apply.
The Milani Shadow Eyez is also very good cream shadow pencil.  The colour Champagne Toast is beautiful and it lasts a long time without creasing. I wouldn't say it lasts the 12hrs it claims but 8hrs certainly. We don't carry Milani in drugstores in Canada so I picked mine up at a CVS in the States and I would highly consider getting more next time I'm somewhere that sells Milani products.
Finally perhaps my favorite drugstore products of all time... The Maybelline Colour Tattoos. They are perfect to wear as bases or on their own. They don't crease and the colour payoff is great! I can't get enough. The 3 colours I have are Bad to the Bronze, Inked in Pink and Pure Nude (LE). I'm hoping to get Tough as Taupe and Pomegranate Punk as well.

3. Least favorite product?

Easliy the Revlon Powder Blush in Sandalwood. It had absolutely no colour payoff. There was nothing I could do to get any colour. It's old now, I have no idea why I've kept it. It's terrible, I'm going to hope I got a faulty product. The honourable mention goes to my Covergirl lipstain (I don't know the exact name, it doesn't say). The product came out really patchy and uneven. The longevity and staying power is great but with no way to make the product look good, that'ts not really what you want.

4. What is the best makeup bargain?

The Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes are extremely cheap at $5. For the money the quality is great. I got an 8 shadow palette in Petal Pusher.

5. A drugstore product that is overpriced?

Mascaras. Easy answer. I haven`t found a drugstore mascara that I love and at 10 plus dollars it`s almost worth it to go high end.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss

My Tanya Burr lipglosses arrived in the mail today. I got the colours Exotic Island, Lets Travel the World and Picnic in the Park. (I love the names, they're so cute!) Tanya is one of my favourite beauty you tubers so I was beyond excited when she announced she was releasing a line of lipgloss and nail polishes. I couldn't wait to get my hands on them.
Overall my first impressions are very good. They smell amazing- it's kind of an artificial fruit smell. They are all pigmented enough to wear on their own, although they would also work over a lipstick. They can be built up or worn sheer. They are also not sticky at all. They really surprised me with how long lasting they were. I ate and drank while wearing Lets Travel the World and it stayed put. It has a great doe foot applicator that applies evenly to the lips.
My only concern is the texture isn't as smooth as I would have liked. If it's not the formulation then I'm going to blame the fact that they were shipped from the UK to Canada and spent some time in my frozen mailbox before I got them. Freezing and unfreezing may have caused its slightly uneven consistency.
I got mine from FeelUnique.com while they were on sale 25% off. The shipping is free over $20 and impressively quick for overseas. I would definitely consider getting more glosses in other colours. I'm also interested in Tanya Burr's line of nail polishes but at this time they are not available in Canada.
