Glittery New Years Eve Look - ❄ Blogmas

In my opinion New Years Eve gives you the best excuse to wear glitter so I came up with a look that utilized a lot of glitter and the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I got my inspiration for this look from a photo of Ashley Greene.
I started by using a fluffy brush and taking Pistol from the Naked 2 Palette and blending that in my crease and a little above. I then took my Zoeva Petit Crease Brush and Blackout and blended that directly into my crease. I continued using a combination of the two and blended them until I was happy with the look.
Next is the difficult part. Using a cream eyeshadow such as Maybelline's Tough as Taupe apply that heavily to your lid to act as a base for the glitter to stick to. I just used my finger to apply the glitter to my lids. Any silver glitter you have will do (I don't know where my glitter came from).
Using a pencil brush I took the Blackout shade on my lower lashline and then I blended Pistol right underneath.
I finished with the eyeshadow by using with Foxy from the Naked 2 palette as my browbone and inner corner highlight.
I used my Jordana FabuLiner to create a fine line close to the lashline. I used a nude pencil liner from Rimmel on my waterline and Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara on my top and bottom lashes to finish the look.
I would pair this dramatic eye with nude lips. Pictured here is Nyx Retractable Liner in Nude, Maybelline's Blushing Beige Lipstick with Buxom's White Russian Lip Cream.
This is my last post for Blogmas 2014. I've really enjoyed blogging every weekday this December and I hope you've enjoyed reading. I will return to my regular Monday and Wednesday Posts so stay tuned!

Sephora Favorites SuperStars Review - ❄ Blogmas

I'm doing a review of the Sephora Favorites SuperStars Box that I got for Christmas. Although Sephora might not be available in all countries I believe most of the products included in the box are available in other stores worldwide so I thought this review would be most useful if I reviewed each product separately instead of the box as a collective.
I'll start with the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown. I have this product in Medium Brown and have been a faithful user for a while now. I was excited to get a full size backup and I think the dark brown looks even better on me than the medium brown. This retails for $27.
The Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black has been a hyped product in the Beauty Community for as long as I can remember. It is super black, long wearing and smudgeproof. It has a very fine felt tip which is so important in a liquid liner. Overall I can see why so many people love it. This retails for $26.
Urban Decay's Sin Eyeshadow is also a favourite of many bloggers. I think this shade is included in the original Naked palette but I don't have it so I am very happy to have it as a full size single shadow. This is my favourite type of shade (champagne shimmer) and Urban Decay's my favourite eyeshadow brand. This retails for $22.
Urban Decay Sin
Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Rose. This is my first experience with the brand Fresh. I know my best friend loves these tinted lip treatments but I'm only neutral about them. The packaging is very pretty. They smell amazing, like citrus and they feel nice on the lips but overall I'd say it's a pretty average lip balm. I'll give it more time to see if my opinion changes. This is a mini size but the full size retails for $26.
Very Sheer Rosy Tint
I've raved about the Josie Maran Argan Oil on my blog so many times so I'll save you all by letting you check out my other blog posts if you want to know what I think. This is a mini size which will be perfect for travel. This small size retails for $20.
*Missing - Benefit the POREfessional. Like I said in my "What I got for Christmas" post, I gave this mini to my mom because I have the full size and she wanted it. I love this primer as it erases the look of pores making my face look flawless. It helps make my makeup last longer. This was a mini and it retails for $12.
Also from Benefit is a mini They're Real Mascara. I wish this had been full size because it is one of my all time favourite mascaras. It gives really full, long lashes without being too clumpy. I really like the unique brush. The formula is kind of hard to remove but I still think it's worth it. It retails for $12.
Formula X Nail Polish in Ignite. Formula X is my favourite nail polish formulation as they last a week or more before chipping. This is a really pretty opaque dark red shade. It retails for $13.
Formula X in Ignite
Chloé Rollerball. This is a really fresh fragrance with notes of Pink Peony, Freesia, Lychee, Magnolia Flower, Lilly of the Valley, Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, Honey. I really like the scent but it seems like more of a spring/summer fragrance. It retails for $30.
Would it be fair to say Nars Orgasm Blush is the most popular blush shade ever? It's a gorgeous peachy pink with flecks of gold. I found this blush to be a little more powdery than my other Nars blush but still very pigmented and long wearing. It is full size and retails for $35.
Nars Orgasm
I haven't tried anything from Bumble and Bumble before but this Surf Spray makes me really intrigued by the brand. The spray volumized my hair and gave it lots of texture. It also didn't smell offense which is huge for me. This is a mini and retails for $18.
Finally the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. I was nervous about this shade matching me but it actually wasn't too bad. Because this is a BB cream the coverage is very sheer and natural. It also has a very strong scent of sunscreen. I think this will be perfect in the summer. This is full size and retails for $50.

Overall there was $278 worth of product in this set and at the retail price of $90 that is quite the deal.
What are your opinions on the products included in this set?

Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush Palette Review - ❄ Blogmas

It's no secret that I think Tarte makes the best blushes so I was beyond thrilled to receive a palette with 5 limited edition Amazonian Clay blushes. Over the past few days I've been playing around with the palette and have formed my opinion.
I'll start with the packaging. I am in love with the packaging on this palette. It looks like an adorable clutch. It feels very high quality and luxurious. It also comes with two wearable bobby pins. Inside the palette has a large mirror and the five blushes. I find it a little annoying that the names are only included on a translucent sheet and not on the actual palette itself. Like the original blushes the designs on the blushes are beautiful.

Breathless
This was the blush I liked least in the entire palette and the only blush that didn't work for me. It's a light beige peach. I found it was too light for my skin tone so it didn't show up very well and coupled with poor pigmentation, it just didn't work. I just found I was a little disappointed in this blush.
I actually did swatch this blush but you can't really tell.
Embraced
This is a gorgeous satin plum blush. It is dark but not too dark for my fair skin. This shade is very pigmented but with a light hand it gives a really radiant splash of colour to your cheeks.

Whimsy
This is by far my favourite blush in the palette. It is a very bright pink matte blush. This is also a very pigmented blush so a light hand is crucial. I think this shade actually looks the most natural on me giving me healthy looking rosy cheeks. I will say this shade is a little bit powdery but still my fav.

Bashful
This is a satin dark peach blush. Once again this is a crazy pigmented blush. It shows up a little bit reddish on my skin but it still looks really pretty and natural.

Irreplaceable
This is a matte mauve blush. Like bashful it shows up a little bit red on my skin but it's not too dark or unnatural. It's also quite pigmented.

Overall this is an amazing blush palette. It is limited edition so I don't know if it is still available but if you can get your hands on it, I would highly suggest it. If not, the regular Tarte blushes are definitely worth the money.

What I got for Christmas! - ❄ Blogmas

Happy Boxing Day! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
I just wanted to share some of the things I got for Christmas. Obviously I'm in no way trying to brag. I realize I'm a very lucky girl! Next week I will have some posts to review what I got.

Glam Glow Gift Sexy
I have wanted the Thirstymud hydrating treatment for a long time now. I'm so happy this set came with samples of the other masks as well. I'm very excited to see how they work.

Origins Bestsellers
I have always wanted to try Origins products so having a whole bunch of sample sizes is the best way to try them out. I won't have reviews on these products for a while as it takes time to get used to new skincare.

Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush Palette
Tarte Blushes are my all time favourites so receiving this palette with 5 blushes was like a dream come true. The packaging is also adorable. I will have a review of this palette next week but so far I'm very impressed.

Sephora Favourites SuperStars
Although I have a few of these products already I was super excited to receive this gift. I'll also have a review on this set next week. (I gave my mom the mini Porefessional from this set because I already have a full size and she wanted one thus the empty hole).

Sephora Eyeshadow in Girl Talk and Eyeliner in Iced Brown
This is a gorgeous glitter eyeshadow and light brown eyeliner from Sephora's own brand.

Nail Art
I've never had a nail art set before. I'm going to play around with it and if I come up with something cool I'll make a post.

Festive Nails - ❄ Blogmas

Merry Christmas Eve!

I hope everyone has a very happy holiday whether you celebrate Christmas or not! I won't be posting a blogmas post tomorrow as mentioned earlier however I'll be back boxing day and every weekday until New Years.

Here is a Christmas Inspired Nail Polish idea. The exact shades of nail polish is not that important and can be changed depending on the desired look. I used a red and gold nail polish by OPI.
I started by applying two pieces of tape at the base of my nail leaving a space in the shape of a triangle exposed. I filled in the triangle with gold polish. It is important to wait for the polish to dry before removing the tape. Once the triangle is dry and the tape is removed you can paint the rest of the nail being careful not to paint over the triangle. If you apply a top coat it is very important to wait for the polish to dry to avoid smudging the two colours.

Holiday Party Eyeshadow Look - ❄ Blogmas

I wanted to do a look that was festive, dramatic and could be worn to a Holiday Party. I used a combination of plums and golds to create this look.

Like always I started by priming my eyes with Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I then took TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer and dusted it all over my lid. I used Urban Decay's Half Baked and lightly dusted it over top of the Mary-Lou Manizer.
I used Sexy from TheBalm's Nude'tude palette and put that in my crease with a fluffy crease brush. I then used the plum colour from the Essence all about nude palette and with the Zoeva Luxe Petit Crease brush I concentrated the colour on my outer corner.
I then used a light matte brown as a transition shade above the Sexy Shade in my crease. I finished my lid by intensifying the gold. I used a glittery gold and my finger to apply it to reduce the fallout. I highlighted my inner corner with the Mary-Lou Manizer again. I highlighted my brownbone with Foxy by Urban Decay.
On my bottom lashline I used a pencil brush and the essence plum shade on the outside and Half Baked on the inside and blended them together in the middle.
I finished the look with Maybelline Gel Liner, Maybelline Volume Express Mascara and I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner in Roach on my waterline. I applied Clinique's Bottom Lash Mascara to finish everything off.

Other Additions to the look:
A berry red lipstick such as Rimmel Lipstick in 107

A bright pink blush such as this one from the Urban Decay Naked Flush palette in Native.
